The Humanitarian Organization for Migration Economics (HOME)) is a Singapore-based NGO founded in 2004. They are dedicated to supporting, empowering, and upholding the rights of migrant workers in Singapore. Their work is supported by three pillars: Welfare, Empowerment and Advocacy. They run a shelter for women migrant workers (predominantly migrant domestic workers) as well as helpdesks and helplines for all low-wage migrant workers, where they provide casework, legal and financial assistance. They also run an academy (HOME Academy) that provides subsidised skills training to migrant domestic workers (including courses such as caregiving, nursing aide, baking, cooking, English lessons etc.). Through HOME Family, which supports and organises a wide range of social events, celebrations, and workshops, they aim to build community among migrant workers. HOME also engages in research and advocacy, through which they make policy recommendations and engage in public education to improve rights and wellbeing for migrant workers.
