- Category: E-Bulletin
Dear Members and Friends,
Warm greetings from GAATW-IS and we hope that 2008 has begun well for all of you.
The past year has been a busy but rewarding year for GAATW. We held the 2nd Triennial Members Congress in November. The international and regional launch of the Collateral Damage: The Impact of Anti-Trafficking Measures of Human Rights around the World were held in September. The report has been widely disseminated among members and colleagues in various regions. As we commence our new programme, we hope that our lobby around the major recommendations of the report will be successful.
As you may know, recruitment process for several new positions in the IS has already started as some of our colleagues completed their contract at the end of 2007. We hope to have our new colleagues with us by March 2008.

Dear Members and Friends,
Warm greetings from the GAATW International Secretariat (GAATW-IS) and our best wishes for a positive, energetic and colourful new year!
This is our first e-Bulletin issue this year and we would like to take the opportunity to share with you our plans and projects for 2007.
As you know, we ended 2006 with a staff retreat in Pattaya, which was truly a rewarding experience. Many of the staff was new in 2006 and this was an opportunity to strengthen the team as well as to plan for 2007. After the New Year’s holiday the team started with optimism and strength of mind. We are looking forward to carrying out the numerous projects planned in support of and with the support of the Alliance and we sincerely hope that this year will be as fruitful and positive as 2006 has been!
Time has passed swiftly as we are now almost at the end of the GAATW 2005-2007 Programme. Many of the activities at the GAATW-IS this year will be dedicated to the preparation for the International Member’s Congress, and we are looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible in October 2007!!

Dear Members and Friends,
Greetings of the New Year.
Reflecting on our work in 2005, we at the GAATW International Secretariat feel really happy. Everything that was planned for 2005 in consultation with the member organisations have been carried out well. As you all know, we worked with a very small team of only 5 women in this office. However, we are grateful to our member organisations, the members of our international board, our working group and many other friends for their support and encouragement. Without your help, completion of the planned tasks would have been impossible.
We have begun the new year with renewed enthusiasm and determination and hope to get your support during this year too. Just a week before we closed for X’mas last year, the hardware of our server which supports the website had crashed so for a few weeks it was not accessible. It has been fixed now and we will soon start doing the updates for this year. You may recall that we had invited applications for programme and communications positions at the Secretariat. We are happy to inform you that the recruitment process is drawing to a close and we will have new colleagues with us very soon; in February 3 new friends will be with us. By May we will have the full team and the regional and thematic work can be done in a satisfactory manner.

Dear GAATW Members and Friends,
Welcome to the first GAATW E-bulletin for 2005! It has not been long since we saw many of you at our International Congress in December. We hope that all of you have started 2005 with renewed energy and determination.
Unfortunately the Tsunami disaster at the end of the year and its aftermath have left their mark on many friends all over the world. As if the natural disaster was not tragic enough, we are further saddened by reports of the neglect of migrant workers, increased vulnerability of women and children to trafficking and allegations of rape and other abuse. GAATW Secretariat staff member Jiraporn Saetang and Parada Ngochontanchai spent their Xmas break in the affected areas working with many member organizations on emergency relief. During the Xmas break we received many messages of sympathy and concern to convey to GAATW friends in the affected areas. We’ve attached a warm letter of support from STV and La Strada, who also wish to know of any initiatives in affected areas which they could assist funding.
