The Human Trafficking and Forced Labour Programme focuses on resisting misogynistic approaches to trafficking and promoting alternative justice processes that prioritise the healing, safety, and autonomy of survivors.
We document and highlight the misogynistic approaches that have been used in anti-trafficking discourse and legislation, providing concrete examples where these frameworks have criminalised women’s labour and violated their rights. We are also carrying out feminist research and advocacy with the goal of shifting the perspective of anti-trafficking practitioners and stakeholders away from criminalisation and anti-migrant policies, towards a more inclusive and feminist response that centres on those most affected by injustice.
